Mari is a Seattle-based multidisciplinary artist born in Tokyo, and grew up in Ichikawa, Chiba-Prefecture, Japan. She moved to Washington state in the Spring of 2009, ever since the Pacific Northwest has been her second home.

 

She is the author of Travel Cats' book Fur Coats & Backpacks, plays guitar, and sings for the rock band Bow & Yarrow. Her stop-motion animated short film Sanpomichi is in production.
